Funny story

One of my sixth graders started gently rubbing my tummy last Thursday. I asked him what he was doing and he just gave me a sweet smile and walked away. About an hour later, he came back to me and started softly tapping my tummy. Before I could ask what he was doing, he very matter of factly said "baby!" in his sweet, speech-impeded voice. I was so shocked! I looked up and asked my aides if either of them had said something to him or around him to make him say that. They both insisted that no they hadn't, then Debbie told me "they say kids can sense those things! Wouldn't it be wild if he was right?" I let it warm my heart and put a smile on my face but then didn't think much else about it. Until the next day. My student came in and told me good morning as usual, then approached me and tapped my belly and said baby again. This continued all day long, each time making me smile and shake my head in astonishment. On Monday, I figured he would have certainly forgotten about it, but the first words he said to me when we walked in my class was "How's you baby?" I said "how do you know I have a baby?" and he just smiled and then came and rubbed my belly. He said "hi baby!" then went and sat down. All week long he has been talking to my baby, and insisting there is a baby in my tummy. We have no idea where he got it from, or why he is so sure, but it makes me chuckle. Wouldn't it seriously be so wild if he was right? He also says it's a girl. And today for the first time, he told me "two babies!" I said "no. Not two babies." he looked at me very matter of factly and said "two babies!" then nonchalantly walked away. Oh my...could it be!?
